Finding a Coach

Finding a Coach

Questions about searching, comparing profiles, and contacting coaches.

Is CoachRanker free to use?

Yes. Visitors can search coach listings, compare profile details, and read public reviews for free.

What should I look for when choosing a coach?

Look for the right specialty, age groups, session format, location, price, reviews, claimed status where shown, and direct contact options. Also consider coaching style, communication, relevant experience, and whether the coach fits your goals. Read the full guide.

Can I search all categories?

Yes. CoachRanker supports sports coaches, music instructors, and fitness trainers. You can search across categories from the directory or browse supported activities first. Browse activities.

How do I contact a coach?

Open a coach profile and use the contact options shown there, if available. Some free or unclaimed listings may not display direct contact details. CoachRanker does not book sessions or process payments; confirm details directly with the coach.

Reviews & Safety

Reviews, Ratings & Safety

Questions about ratings, review names, moderation, and screening limits.

Does CoachRanker allow anonymous reviews?

No. Reviews are not anonymous. Public reviews show first name and last initial, such as Michael R. or Sarah M. CoachRanker may require email verification before a rating or written review can be submitted. Email verification confirms control of the inbox; it does not confirm that CoachRanker verified the coaching relationship.

How are coaches rated?

Reviews include an overall rating plus scores for Expertise, Communication & Coaching, and Value. These ratings help people compare coaching fit more clearly.

Are session details and background claims verified?

No. Coaches may share general session format, setting, experience, and background details, but CoachRanker does not verify every coach-provided claim.

Does CoachRanker screen every coach?

No. CoachRanker does not currently perform comprehensive screening, employment screening, or criminal history reports on every coach. CoachRanker may review claimed coach profiles using publicly available information, including public sex offender registries, as part of our claim review and safety process. Families, athletes, students, and organizations should make their own decisions and conduct any additional screening they believe is appropriate.

What does Claimed mean on CoachRanker?

Claimed means a coach has claimed connection to the profile. It does not mean CoachRanker has certified, screened, endorsed, or guaranteed the coach. Users should still review ratings, written reviews, credentials, communication, and make their own judgment before hiring a coach.

Coach Profiles & Claims

Coach Profiles & Claims

Questions about creating, recommending, claiming, and managing profiles.

Can a coach claim a profile for free?

Yes. Claiming a profile is free and verifies identity. A free claim does not unlock profile control, public contact settings, review responses, or review request tools.

What does a free claim unlock?

A free claim verifies identity and can display claimed status. It does not unlock dashboard access, About editing, public contact settings, review responses, or review request tools.

Can I recommend a coach who is not listed yet?

Yes. Parents, athletes, students, and clients can recommend a local coach through the Recommend a Coach page. Approved submissions may start as free, unclaimed listings. Recommend a Coach.

I am a coach. Should I recommend myself or create my own profile?

If you are the coach, use Create My Coach Profile instead of recommending yourself. That path starts your own profile setup and account access flow. Create My Coach Profile.

Plans & Placement

Plans, Placement & Payments

Questions about Basic, Pro, Founding Member access, featured placement, leads, and commissions.

What do paid plans unlock?

Paid plans are designed for coaches who want profile control and coach tools. Current public pricing lists Basic at $5/month and Pro at $15/month. Compare Plans.

  • Basic: profile control, dashboard access, About editing, profile photo, public contact settings, review responses, review-link sharing, QR code downloads, and basic analytics.
  • Pro: expanded profile presentation, optional public links, and eligibility for limited featured placement.
  • Self-service billing and Stripe checkout are not currently live.

What is Founding Member Launch Basic?

The first 250 approved coaches in the Central Florida launch market can become Founding Members. Founding Members keep complimentary Launch Basic access under the early-preview offer, subject to a real coach profile, launch-market eligibility, an approved claim, and CoachRanker policy compliance.

Do coaches pay for leads?

No. CoachRanker does not sell pay-per-lead credits or require coaches to maintain a weekly advertising budget.

Does paying guarantee first place in search?

No. Paid access may include eligibility for limited featured placement, but it does not guarantee first place or override relevance, profile information, and real feedback.

How are featured profiles selected?

Featured placement may consider profile completeness, recent activity, community feedback, and membership eligibility. It is limited and does not guarantee coaching quality, fit, or top placement in every search.

Does CoachRanker take a commission from lessons?

No. CoachRanker does not process lesson payments or take booking commissions. Coaches may list payment methods they accept, but CoachRanker does not collect, hold, verify, or guarantee payments between coaches and clients.
